Due and overdue across the home
One feed of the deadlines and open duties this home is carrying, computed live from the records themselves.
Due and overdue gathers the deadlines and open duties scattered across a home's records into one feed. It shows in the Overdue and Due soon groups of the Needs attention tab on the manager and senior dashboards. A group that is empty is not shown, so an absent group means nothing is outstanding, not a fault.
What feeds it
These records contribute a deadline, and only while the duty is still open:
| Record | What is due | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Return Home Interview | "Offer interview (within 72h of return)" | 72 hours from the return |
| Reg 40 notification | "Notify Ofsted ([category], within 24h)" | 24 hours from becoming aware |
| Incident awaiting review | "Review the incident and decide whether Ofsted must be notified (Reg 40)" | 24 hours from when it was reported; only for a missing episode, a safeguarding type, or severity 4–5, until a manager decides either way |
| Incident decided notifiable | "Notify Ofsted and record the notification (Reg 40)" | 24 hours from the decision at review; cleared once a notification is recorded, which then carries its own clock |
| Physical intervention | "Speak to the staff involved and sign the record (within 48h)" | 48 hours from the intervention; cleared by manager sign-off |
| Physical intervention | "Speak to the young person and record their debrief (within 5 days)" | 5 days from the first intervention on the incident; cleared once the young person's debrief has an answer |
| Health care plan | Initial Health Assessment (IHA) and Review Health Assessment (RHA) | The dates set on the plan |
| LAC review | The review type | Its scheduled date |
| Report | The report's title | Its due date |
| Home log (register) | "[Register] does not reconcile" | The end of the day it was counted; clears when a manager closes the discrepancy off. See Registers and inventory |
| Home account | "[Account] has not been opened", "[Account] is below zero", "[Account] needs a check" | See Count and sign off home money |
| Home account check | "[Account] does not reconcile: …" | The end of the day it was checked |
| Medication | Controlled drug entry not confirmed, medication review, count needed, missed dose | See the medication articles |
Reading a row
Each row shows what is due, the young person where the item is about one, and the kind of record. Overdue rows say "Overdue today" or "3 days overdue" and carry an Overdue badge. Rows not yet due show "Due today" or "Due in 2 days". Open takes you to the record. On a wide screen, selecting the row first opens a preview with the date it was or is due, its status, and who acts on it.
Overdue items sort above merely-due ones, longest overdue first.
Items leave the feed when the duty is discharged
There is no list to tick off. Every item is worked out at the moment you load the page, from the record's own timestamps — so it disappears the moment the underlying duty is met, and it can never show something you have already dealt with.
Record the interview offer and the RHI item goes. Record the time you notified Ofsted and the Reg 40 item goes. Complete the LAC review, submit the report, set the IHA completed date — each one drops out on the next load.
It never shows another home
The feed is scoped to the home you are currently working in. A manager of two homes sees only the selected home's items; switch homes and you see the other set. This is enforced twice over — the endpoint refuses a home that is not the one you are operating in, and the registry is only ever handed that one home's id, with a second check on every item before it is surfaced.
