Record a log
Add an entry to a young person's day — the thing you'll do most often on shift.
Any member of the home. The endpoint gates on the selected home, not a named permission.
A log is one entry about one thing. Write it as it happens — that's the whole job.
Add a log
-
On your dashboard, open Children and choose the young person. Their card lists the logs you can record. Logs that are due sit under Still to do; ones already done are under Done today; the rest are under As needed. Every log is a form your organisation has set up, so the list is theirs. Select a row to open it. Anything not on the card is under Additional logs.
-
Check the time. When shows today and the time, set to now. Select Change to adjust it if you're writing up something from earlier, then Done.
-
Fill in the form. Plain sentences. What you saw and what you did, not what you concluded. Fields marked with an asterisk must be filled in. On longer text boxes you can dictate instead of typing.
-
Select Save. Or Save and add another to keep the form open for the next one.
While the form is open, Logged this shift lists what has already been recorded for that young person.
Useful to know
If a log can be linked to a plan, a Link to a plan choice appears. Leave it on No plan if it doesn't relate to one.
Photo logs read Upload photos (and Upload and add another). A file field takes up to 10 files of up to 20 MB each, and photos show as small pictures in the log.
If you can't add a log to a day
Once a manager has signed a day's journal off, it's closed to new logs and ARC says so. That's deliberate — it is the record an inspector reads. Incidents and safeguarding concerns can still be recorded as normal.
Until sign-off, you can still add to a day that has been submitted for review. After it, tell your manager what's missing. They can undo the sign-off if something needs adding. See Write and submit a journal day.
