Quick log on your phone
Record a log in seconds from the mobile screen, including dictating it instead of typing.
Any member of the home. The endpoint gates on the selected home, not a named permission.
Log is the first tab on your phone and the screen ARC opens on. It is headed Record a log, and the form behind each log is the same one the desktop uses, so what you record looks the same to your manager.
Write it
-
Pick the young person. The row of faces under Child. ARC remembers who you chose last time, and if there is only one young person in the home they are selected for you.
-
Pick a log. The logs shown on the child's card on the desktop are on screen. More types opens the rest, and any your organisation has built are under Custom logs. You only see the logs your role can record.
-
Fill in the form. It opens as a popup. On longer text boxes, Dictate records and then transcribes into the box. Select Stop to finish. You can edit what comes back before saving, and typing always works whether dictation does or not.
-
Check the time, which starts as now, then select Save. Save and add another keeps the form open for the next one.
The young person stays selected afterwards so you can log the next thing straight away. Report incident, at the top, takes you to the incident form for the same young person.
Photos
The Photos log opens a form where you add pictures, then Upload photos. A file field takes up to 10 files of up to 20 MB each.
If a journal has been sent back
If a manager has sent a journal back to you, a banner at the top says so, with their note and an Open journal link. The journal is a desktop page, so that link takes you out of the phone view for the rest of the session.
Two things worth knowing
If the day has been signed off, ARC says so under the child's row and the log can't be saved to it. Incidents and safeguarding concerns can still be recorded.
Dictation isn't a gate. If the microphone is refused, unsupported, or the transcription fails, ARC tells you and the box stays usable.
