Use ARC on your phone

The mobile surface, what it covers, and how to dictate a note instead of typing it.

WHERE THIS LIVES IN ARC
Phone /m

Open ARC in your phone's browser and sign in as normal. You'll land on the mobile version automatically — there's nothing to install and nothing to find in an app store.

What's on it

The things you actually do mid-shift:

  • Quick log
  • The young people, and each one's detail
  • Tasks
  • Handover
  • Incidents

Everything else — reviews, reports, admin — is on the desktop version. If you need it, use Switch to desktop site; the choice lasts for that session.

Add it to your home screen

Your browser's share or menu button has an "Add to Home Screen" option. That gives you an icon that opens straight into ARC, without the browser bar. It's the same site, just quicker to reach.

Dictate instead of typing

Anywhere you're writing a note, you can record it and let ARC turn it into text. Tap the microphone, talk, tap again to stop.

The first time, your phone will ask permission to use the microphone. If you decline, the button will keep telling you access was refused until you allow it in your browser's settings for the site.

Read the text back before you save it. Transcription is good, not perfect, and names and medical words are where it slips. What you save is the record.

If your phone can't record at all, ARC says so and you type instead. Nothing is lost either way.
