Appointments
Booking a medical, CAMHS, dental or professional appointment, and closing it off once it's happened.
An appointment is a standing record of a commitment — medical, CAMHS, dental, an education meeting, a social worker visit, legal, or other. It's different from a "medical appointment" daily log: this one carries an outcome and stays as evidence.
You can create it in advance or write it up afterwards. Both are normal.
Record one
Open the young person's record, then Appointments under Care, health & education, and choose Record appointment.
Two fields are required: Appointment type and Date and time. The date can be in the past — that is how you write up something that has already happened.
Then Location, Attendees, and Notes if you have them.
Close it off
The lower half of the form is headed Completion record:
- Attended — Yes — attended, No — did not attend, or left unrecorded
- Outcome — what happened
Scheduled or Completed
The status is worked out from one thing only: recording an outcome makes it Completed. Until then it reads Scheduled, even if the date has gone past. The form says so under the outcome box.
Editing
Update reopens the form. Only what you change is sent, so adding an outcome to an appointment weeks later won't wipe the location and attendees somebody else typed in.
Manager sign-off
Every appointment shows Awaiting review until a manager signs it off, then Signed off with their name and any note. Signing off is once only — the second attempt is refused with "This appointment has already been signed off."
A manager landing on the page sees a banner counting what's outstanding.
A manager can also send a record that is awaiting sign-off back to a named member of staff for changes, or undo a sign-off if something was missed. See Send a record back for changes, or undo a sign-off.
Where else they show up
Today's and the coming days' appointments appear on the dashboard, and the home has a shared Appointments view of its own under Daily work in the sidebar — including appointments that belong to the home rather than to one young person.
