A journal day can be downloaded as a single PDF — one young person, one date. It's what you send to a social worker or hand to a visitor who needs the day on paper.

Download it

Open the journal day and choose Download PDF, top right. It builds on demand and saves as daily_journal_[the young person's ID]_[date].pdf.

The button is there at every stage — you don't have to wait for the day to be submitted or signed off.

What's in it

The document is headed Daily Journal, with your company's logo, and carries:

  • The young person, the date, the home, and the status
  • Who published it and who signed it off, with times, once those have happened
  • Daily summary — the day's note
  • Journal entry — your company's journal sections, but only the ones that have something written in them
  • Staff daily logs, grouped by type
  • Incidents recorded that day
  • Manager's review comments
  • Active goals

The footer records when it was generated, by whom, and your company name.

Two things to expect

The status wording differs from the screen. A submitted day reads Awaiting review in the PDF and Awaiting Review on screen; a finalised one reads Signed off.

Photo logs are left out. Photo entries are stripped from the staff-log groups before the document is built.
