Where is medication / the MAR chart?

Who can fix this: Your manager The child record

What you're seeing. You're looking for where to sign for a dose, or for the MAR chart — or you can see the medication screens but cannot record on them.

Why it happens. Medication has its own place in ARC, separate from the Health Care Plan. The plan's Medication section is part of the health record; doses are recorded on the medication round. Three things commonly get in the way:

  • You do not know where it is. In the sidebar, open Daily work, then Medication. A young person's prescriptions and their MAR chart are on their record under Care, health & education, then Medication. On a phone it is the Medication tab.
  • Your medication training is not in date. Giving, entering or checking a prescription, and witnessing a controlled drug, need in-date medication training on your training record, with both a completed date and a renewal date. Without it you can read the round but not record on it.
  • Your home has not gone live. Until a manager makes ARC the legal record, the page shows Running alongside paper: the paper MAR from the pharmacy is still the legal record and ARC records beside it.

How to fix it. Use the path above. If you cannot record, ask your manager to check your training record. If your home is not live, keep the paper MAR as the record. For how to use it, see Give medication on the round.

Who can fix it. Your manager, who keeps training records and decides when the home goes live.
