Complete your staff profile
Why ARC holds you at your profile before letting you into a home, and which parts only your employer can finish.
Only a company admin or HR can complete this. The subject can never write to their own record.
The first time you sign in, ARC may hold you at your profile and refuse to open any home. This is deliberate, and it isn't a form you forgot to save.
Why ARC blocks you
Before anyone works in a children's home, their employer has to hold a safer-recruitment record for them. ARC enforces that in software: until the record is complete, the account cannot reach a young person's records at all.
It is the same check an inspector would make of your personnel file, applied at the point of access rather than after the fact.
What has to be there
Your own details:
- Name, date of birth, address, town and postcode
- A photograph
- Emergency contact — name, relationship and phone number
- National Insurance number
Your employment:
- Job title, employment status, contract type, contracted hours
- Start date and line manager
And the parts recorded about you, by someone else:
- Proof of identity — the document type, who verified it and when
- Right to work — the document type, who verified it and when
- An enhanced DBS check
- Your criminal offences self-declaration and health and fitness declaration
You cannot fill any of this in yourself
Not even your own address or emergency contact.
That is deliberate, and it is the point of the record rather than an oversight: the subject of a safer-recruitment file can never write to it. Someone has to sight your documents and record that they did, and a record you could edit yourself would be worth nothing as evidence.
The screen lists exactly what is outstanding. Send that list to your company admin or whoever handles HR, and they enter it.
Once it's complete
The block lifts immediately and you go straight to your dashboard. Nothing you enter is lost in the meantime.
