Assign a rule set to homes
Put a rule set to work at particular homes — and the one thing this screen cannot do.
A rule set does nothing until a home is running on it. Assignment is how you say this home is held to these expectations.
Each home runs on exactly one rule set. Assigning a new one replaces whatever it was on before.
Assign
-
Open the rule set. Sidebar, Company Admin, the Compliance rules tile, then the set.
-
Find the Assign to Homes card — "Select homes to use this rule set." Every home in your company is listed. Homes already on this set are ticked.
-
Tick the homes you want on it.
-
Select Assign Rule Set.
The change is immediate — ARC clears the cached rule set for each home you assigned, so the next evaluation uses the new one.
Unticking a home does not remove it
This is the one thing to know about this screen.
Assign Rule Set applies the set to every home you have ticked. It does not take the set away from homes you have unticked — they stay exactly as they were.
To move a home off this rule set, open the rule set you want it on instead, tick it there, and save. The home follows its most recent assignment.
You also cannot save with nothing ticked; the request is refused.
Homes you never assign
A home that has never been assigned a rule set uses your company's default set. That is not a fallback to nothing — it is a real set of rules, so it is worth knowing which one your default is before you assume an unassigned home is unchecked.
Checking what a home is on
The tick state on this screen is the answer: open a rule set and the homes ticked are the homes running on it. There is no per-home view of "which rule set am I on" elsewhere in the admin area.
Why this matters at 8am
A rule set is what a compliance warning traces back to. When a manager is told a journal cannot be finalised because of a compliance rule, the rule named in that message came from the set assigned to their home — see Finalise a journal day.
