WHERE THIS LIVES IN ARC
Sidebar Daily work Rota

Nothing changes on the rota until a manager approves it. You ask, a colleague agrees if you named one, and then a manager decides. Until then the shift is still yours.

Offer one of your shifts

  1. Open Rota and select one of your own upcoming, published shifts. A shift that has already started cannot be offered.
  2. In Swap or give away a shift, choose who to Ask: a colleague who works at a home you work at, or Anyone eligible (give the shift away).
  3. Add a Note (optional).
  4. Select Send request, or Offer the shift if you chose anyone.

A shift can only have one open request at a time. You can withdraw it with Cancel request while it is waiting for a reply or for a manager.

Answer a request

Under Swap requests, For you to answer lists shifts you have been asked to cover and shifts offered to anyone eligible.

  • Select Accept or Decline on a request sent to you.
  • Select Take this shift on a shift offered to anyone.

Accepting does not move the shift. It goes to a manager to confirm. Under Your requests, each request shows where it stands: Waiting for a reply, Accepted, waiting for a manager, Approved, Not approved or Cancelled.

Take an open shift

Open shifts offered to you lists open shifts in the next four weeks that are open to you: to anyone, to bank staff or to agency staff. Select Claim. The claim shows "Claim sent, waiting for a manager", then Claim approved or Claim not approved. A claim never fills a shift by itself; a manager confirms it. If several people claim the same shift, approving one rejects the others.
